I am honored to be a part of the Wire Artisan's Guild of Etsy...a group of amazingly talented ladies from all around the world. Here is a sampling of the gorgeous work they submitted for the August theme challenge "Africa":

It's absolutely awesome what's made.

It's a pity the prizes are so high I will never able to afford me a piee like that.

But still: it's awesome!

I love the Oasis in the Desert piece. I have to agree with the first comment, those prices are a bit high.

Thanks for your comments everyone!! I know these prices are much higher than my work, but do keep in mind I am a completely different breed in our wire artisans team;) I choose high quality czech glass, use only swarovski crystals and pearls, and have searched to find the highest quality non-tarnish artistic wire, but I always create with a view to making my jewelry affordable for my fantasy and faerie friends~also, my pieces limited edition, but readily available designs;)

In contrast, most of the other artisans in the guild use only fine metals like fine silver and gold, the highest grade gemstones collected from around the world and the work you see in these photos represents HOURS of intricate weaving and wrapping as well as other processes to achieve the interesting finishes on the metals.

All of these are also one of a kind pieces..many of our members sell to high end boutiques and are featured in Art Galleries as well as in prestigious publications like Bead Trends, Belle Armoire and others. When you buy jewelry from these ladies you are truly getting a collectors item:-)

I hope that helps a bit...I have so much admiration for the other members of our guild- I was honored that they found my style unique and admitted me into the group even tho I am quite a different breed of artist!!
