A New Crown for Princess Buttercup

I love custom wedding jewelry and accessory requests! One of our brides is having a Princess Bride wedding complete with Westley, Buttercup, Inigo and a cast of thousands (well okay, probably just a cast of 10s, but they have costumes;). She asked me to make a crown for her to wear as Princess Buttercup, and this was the result.

UPDATE: This crown is now for sale as a made to order piece from Thyme2dream Weddings on EtsyThyme2dream Storenvy and Thyme2dream ArtFire.

Lady of Rohan Eowyn Circlet

In all the excitement of the impending release of  The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey this week, we have seen quite a flurry of LOTR circlet orders. Im sure most of our friends are going to the opening this week and even though very few of the Lord of the Rings characters appear in The Hobbit, it is still fun to celebrate the new film by attending in full Middle Earth regalia. Ian created a new circlet in honor of the occasion, this one inspired by Eowyn, the Lady of Rohan.

Midsummer Nocturne Fairy Tiara

"I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine:
There sleeps Titania sometime of the night,
Lull'd in these flowers with dances and delight;
And there the snake throws her enamell'd skin,
Weed wide enough to wrap a fairy in"
~William Shakespeare

My new Midsummer Nocturne Tiara was originally a custom piece for this beautiful Nocturne Fairy from a ballet production of Midsummer Nights Dream. I havent had much time for new pieces this spring and summer, so its always nice to get a custom request- gives me an excuse to be creative;)  As always, this piece is available at Thyme2dream ArtFire

Just a few of Ian's newest Circlet (diadem, tiara, headband, etc;) designs! You can click on each photo to be taken to the shop listing, and for more photos of the individual item.

This is an updated version of our Tranquility Kyanite Circlet..Ian added a graceful diadem dip in the center and a darker blue strand of wire in the center of the Celtic weave band.

Ian first designed a headband for the maid of honor in his daughter Lorraine's wedding (yes it DID take place in a Scottish castle:). Once he figured out headbands could also be circlets, he was inspired to create a few more.

Art Nouveau Elven Headdress

I'm so excited about how this Arwen inspired Elven Headdress turned out..My sister took some in a big hurry photos tonight (wish my in a hurry photos looked THAT good!) and I just couldn't wait to post them.

This piece is truly a collaboration- I came up with an idea based on a request from a customer...Ian designed the gorgeous celtic weave base, my niece Alicia designed the bead strands (and is the model in these photos;), and I added my crystal flower arrangements and put it all together. My sister did the photos- she is so good she made even these rushed ones look great!

Tomorrow we will try to get some daylight shots- the bead strands are full of swarovski crystals and we really want to get some of the amazing sparkle in the photos.

UPDATE: These are now made to order!! I can even customize the colours for you if you like. Now available in the Nouveau Wedding collection in my ArtFire Shop

Moonlit Fairy Bower Tiara

Quickly again...busy busy busy...I am officially NOT participating in any recession, depression or recession they may be throwing;-) I'm busy filling orders and working on new designs, but I wanted to pop in here and show you all my new tiara- a blue one to add to the fairy bower collection...and I love the way it turned out if I do say so myself:

Tree Sprites, Wood Nymphs & Mistletoe fancies

Inspired by the sacred mistletoe plant that grows in the mighty oaks of Britain (favorite adornment of tree sprites & wood nymphs everywhere)

Although we usually think of Christmas decorations and kissing when we think of mistletoe, it is actually one of the most sacred herbs in Druid lore. As Ellen Evert Hopman says in her delightful book "A Druid's Herbal":

"Not quite herb, not quite tree-beyond the limitations of classification, freed from the restrictions of convention & resembling a constellation of stars suspended in midair from the bough of a sacred tree-such is the 'spirit' of this plant. It belongs to the in-between times of dusk and dawn, or the exact interval between two seasons~ a gateway to something 'other'."

Both of these are available at Thyme2dream Etsy

Just in Time for Halloween...

...Or anytime you need to feel like a fairy princess!

I am introducing a new range of simple tiaras and circlets with a much more everyday price...so now you can buy one for each of your children, or for 'I dont know when I'll wear it, but I LOVE tiaras', or buy one to go with each of your favorite faery costumes;-)

These will be available in each of my elven forest colour ranges~ this one coordinates with my Rivendell Spring and Fairy Bower collections...if you want a different colour combination and dont see the one you want listed yet, just contact me!

Autumn Flame Copper & Amethyst Set

October is a beautiful time of year in Kansas. The awful heat of summer has passed, we have deep blue skies, brilliant fiery leaves and crisp cool weather.

In the Flinthills, even our prairie grass changes colours, and we see vast expanses of deep golden-copper hue waving in the south wind. I created these pieces with our gorgeous autumn landscape in mind.

The tiara, necklace and earrings are available currently in my ArtFire Shop. Im thinking I will do an ear cuff and maybe a hair clip as well...if you have another request, feel free to contact me anytime:)

Lorriane's Wedding

Ian finally finished the tiara for his daughter, Lorraine. She is getting married in a Scottish Castle, complete with kilts, bagpipes and maybe even a ghost or two...

Lorraine wanted a sort of goth but not too goth look, and we were delighted to find these gorgeous ivy leaf charms at one of our favorite bead suppliers. Ian worked forever to modify the leaves so they would work in the design, but it was well worth the effort!!

This design also has an optional Celtic Weave band that can be added:

THIS IS NOW AVAILABLE IN MY ETSY SHOP:
Elven Forest Ivy Leaf Tiara

Tiara for A Fairy Bridesmaid

Here is the matching bridesmaid's tiara~ very similar, but with wee fairy flower clusters on the sides instead of matching sprays as in the bride's tiara.
